Buyers' and Sellers' Alert: Beware of Scams

Please forward scam emails to support@boatseeker.com as soon as you receive them. When you receive a response to an ad, simply google that email, name or phone number. Google’s results will reveal any scamming activity related to those contacts. Should you receive a phone call from someone posing as a BoatSeeker representative asking about your listing or requesting your personal information such as your credit card number, please verify the name and phone number from which they are calling. If you are unable to confirm the caller is with BoatSeeker, please email us immediately at support@boatseeker.com and report the incident.

Please be extremely careful before sending any payment either directly to a seller or to an escrow agent.

BoatSeeker.com does not become involved, in any way, with transactions between the buyer and seller advertising on BoatSeeker.com. As such, we do NOT offer Buyer Protection Programs or Guarantee/Warranty Services.

Remember:
-Verify the customer’s information (such as address, name, phone number, etc) particularly international customers.
-Make sure you have validated the payment and have the money before you finalize the transaction.
-Be suspicious of attempts to gain access to your bank account information or other personal information.
-If a buyer wishes to complete a transaction immediately with no negotiation or over pays, a common scam is for them to want you to refund the overage amount.
-Use common sense. If a deal seems too good to be true, it often is.
